Capolago

Home to our first property here in Switzerland, we probably have a softer heart for this town than most. While the town is on the southeasternmost part of Lake Lugano with beautiful scenery of the lake and the mountains, most of the older town itself is nestled between the main train line and highway that connects Switzerland with Italy. The benefit of this is that there is a good public transportation connection to surrounding destinations, such as Lugano, Como, and Milan. One of the most popular tourist attractions in Capolago is Monte Generoso, where you can take the train directly from the train station to the top of the mountain.

For food in Capolago, we really enjoyed Grotto Eguaglianza. To cool off in summer and feel the community vibe, go to the Caffé Bar Lido Capolago for a drink and swim.
